CONTEST RULES
CLASSIC SOUTHEAST TEXAS/KFDM CHANNEL 6
CHEVY SONIC CAR GIVEAWAY
FEBRUARY 24, 2012 – APRIL 13, 2012
Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be TEXAS OR LOUISIANA residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the KFDM viewing area. To qualify, entrants must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station KFDM (the “Station”) CLASSIC CHEVROLET SOUTHEAST TEXAS, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Only one qualifier or winner per household.
How to Enter
1.No purchase is necessary to enter. One entry per IP address per day.
2.To enter, log onto www.kfdm.com to complete the online entry form with your name, address, phone, age, and submit. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.
3.The contest starts at 9:00 a.m. CT on February 24, 2012, and ends at 6:00 a.m. CT on April 6, 2012 (the “Contest Period”). Entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. CST each Thursday during the Contest Period to qualify for the weekly drawing. Remaining valid entries will carry over to the next weekly drawing.
4.Each Friday during the Contest Period beginning March 2, 2012, one (1) weekly qualifier will be randomly selected from among valid entries, for a total of six (6) qualifiers.
5.At 6:00 a.m. CT on April 11, 2012, each of the six (6) qualifiers will be required to attend the grand prize event at Classic Chevrolet located at 3855 EasTex Freeway, Beaumont, TX 77706. In the event a qualifier does not appear at the grand prize event, then the qualifier will be disqualified, and the number of keys will be reduced. Each of the six (6) qualifiers will randomly draw numbers to determine the order of selecting keys based on qualification date. Each qualifier will then draw one (1) key. . Each qualifier will have the opportunity to turn the key in the ignition until the winner is determined. The qualifier with the key which starts the Chevrolet Sonic will be determined the winner. Only one key will start the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic. Qualifiers must be present to win. Each of the remaining non-winning qualifiers will receive a prize.
6.Entrants may not enter with multiple identities nor may entrants use any other device or artifice to obtain more than the maximum number of entries. Any entrant who attempts to participate with multiple identities or uses any device or artifice to obtain more than the maximum number of entries may be disqualified.
7.All entries received that are duplicate, mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize(s)
1.One winner will receive a 2012 CHEVROLET SONIC LT (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) 5 DOOR HATCHBACK valued at $18,910. The winner must have a valid Texas state driver’s license and provide proof of automobile insurance. Winner is responsible for add-ons, insurance premiums, maintenance expenses, gasoline, and any other fees and expenses associated with the car, including but not limited to, registration, tag and title fees.
2. Up to five (5) remaining qualifiers will each receive a CARNIVAL CRUISE for two. The prize includes one (1) inside cabin (double occupancy) for a four (4) day Western Caribbean Cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines departing from any Carnival Cruise port provided it fits the length of the cruise criteria (Galveston, New Orleans as well as Florida ports), meals, selected non-alcoholic beverages and entertainment. The prize does not include any and all travel related expenses not expressly stated in the prize description, including, without limitation, baggage fees, airline fees, beverages, gratuities, trip insurance, shore excursions, other transportation or any other incidental expenses. The prize must be used by August 31, 2013, is subject to availability, reservation, and blackout dates may apply. Qualifier may upgrade cabin selection at own expense and is subject to availability. Qualifier agrees the cruise is subject to the terms and conditions of Carnival Cruise Line and will be required to sign additional documents. Qualifier and travel companion will need a passport to travel. The cost/value of each cruise is $869.00. Either qualifier or travel companion must be at least 25 years old.
3.Qualifiers will be notified by phone. Winner will be notified in person. Before claiming prizes, qualifiers and winner must provide their correct name, address and telephone number to Station at the time of notification. Qualifiers and winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within one (1) days of the grand prize event. All persons traveling on the trip must be 25 years of age or over, unless travelers under 25 are accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian of all of the minors 25 years of age or older. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release which must be returned with the winner’s release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame specified above. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
4. If a qualifier cannot be notified within 3 days, then the qualifier will be disqualified, and an alternate qualifier will be randomly selected from among remaining valid entries. If a qualifier does not attend the grand prize event, or does not timely sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the qualifier will be disqualified, and an alternate qualifier will not be selected. If the winner does not sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility and take possession of the prize on April 13, 2012, then the prize will be forfeited, and the remaining valid qualifiers will randomly reselect keys to determine an alternate winner.
5. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
6.The qualifiers and winner are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. Qualifiers and winner must sign a W-9 form.
7. Only one prize will be awarded per household.
8. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize
9. Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
10. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Communications, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of qualifying depend on the number of entries received. Odds of winning depends on number of qualifiers.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at KFDM CHANNEL 6, 2955 IH 10 EAST, BEAUMONT, TEXAS 77702, and on the Station’s website at kfdm.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to KFDM CHANNEL 6, 2955 IH 10 EAST, BEAUMONT, TEXAS 77702 by 12/31/12.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Communications, LLC, CLASSIC CHEVROLET SOUTHEAST TEXAS and CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES accepts no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
