Who Can Enter
1.To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Texas or Louisiana residents who are 18 years of age or older, reside in the KFDM viewing area, and are engaged to be married.
2.Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., San Antonio Television, LLC, and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station KFDM (the “Station”) Cindy’s Bridal, J&J Monogramming, Suga’s, Cathy Cook Jewelry, AV Custom Designs, Bow Tie DJ Service, Ortiz Formalwear, The Garden District, Twigs, Sun Travel, Heartfield Designs, The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
How to Enter
a)No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry allowed per account holder.
b)To enter, log onto http://www.weddingcentral.tv/main/home.html to create your free engagement announcement. Then, log on to www.kfdm.com to complete an online entry form with your name, address, telephone number, birth date, and email address, insert the URL link to your engagement announcement, and click “Submit.” No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.
c)The contest starts on June 23, 2014, and all entries must be received by Station by 1:00 p.m. CDT on July 9, 2014, to qualify for the judging period. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, printing errors, server unavailability, computer, or any other electronic malfunction.
d)Each entry will be judged and scored by a panel of two (2) judges comprised of Station personnel based on the following criteria: 40% content, 20% engagement photo, and 40% creativity. On July 10, 2014, the judges will determine three (3) finalists with the highest score(s) based on the criteria set forth above. The decisions of the judges shall be final.
e)Between 12:00 p.m. (noon) on July 10, 2014. and 4:00.p.m. CDT July 11, 2014, viewers will be asked to view the finalists’ engagement announcements at www.kfdm.com and vote via text for their favorite finalist. To vote for finalist #1, text 1 to 67336. To vote for finalist #2, text 2 to 67336. To vote for finalist #3, text 3 to 67336. Voters will receive one (1) thank you text in return. Voting is limited to one vote per mobile phone number per day; duplicate votes will be disqualified. On July 13, 2014, the Station will determine one (1) winner based on the entry with the most valid votes. Entrants are prohibited from obtaining votes by offering prizes or other inducements to members of the public, vote farming, vote purchasing, or any other activity that artificially inflates such entrant’s votes as determined by Station in its sole discretion. In the event of a tie, one (1) winner will be randomly selected from among the tied entrants.
The Station reserves the right to determine in its sole and absolute discretion whether the online votes are valid, and may disqualify any duplicate votes. Multiple and/or irregular votes or multiple votes from the same user or users, including but not limited to, votes generated by a robotic, programmed, script, macro, other automated means or other source will be considered invalid.
f)All entries (including photos) received that are mutilated, tampered with, incorrect, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries (including photos) become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station, and will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Prize(s)
1.The winner will receive a prize package that includes a $50 gift certificate from Cindy’s Bridal, a $50 gift certificate from J&J Monogramming, a $50 Suga’s gift certificate, a $50 Cathy Cook Jewelry gift certificate, a $50 AV Custom Designs gift certificate, a $50 Bow Tie DJ Service gift certificate, a $50 gift certificate from Ortiz Formalwear, a $50 gift certificate from The Garden District, a $50 Twigs gift certificate, a $50 gift certificate from Sun Travel, and a $50 gift certificate from Heartfield Designs. The total value of the prize package is $550. Gift certificates are subject to the terms and conditions of the providers, including any expiration dates.
2.Each winner will be notified by telephone. Before claiming prizes, winner must provide his/her correct name, address and telephone number to Station at the time of notification. Each winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within ten (10) days of notification, at the time each winner claims his/her prize in person at the Station. Each winner must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
3.If the winner cannot be notified within five (5) days, or does not timely sign and return the release and affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be awarded to the finalist with the next highest number of votes, as determined by the Station in its sole and absolute discretion.
4.There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for any prize except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5.Each winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. Each winner must complete and sign a Form W-9.
6.Only one prize will be awarded per household. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any 30-day period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
7.San Antonio Television, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.
8.San Antonio Television, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liability arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9.In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that San Antonio Television, LLC, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries and votes received.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at KFDM, 6155 Eastex Frwy, Ste. 300, Beaumont, TX 77706, and on the Station’s website www.kfdm.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to KFDM, 6155 Eastex Frwy, Ste. 300, Beaumont, TX 77706, by September 30, 2014.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., San Antonio Television, LLC, Cindy’s Bridal, J&J Monogramming, Suga’s, Cathy Cook Jewelry, AV Custom Designs, Bow Tie DJ Service, Ortiz Formalwear, The Garden District, Twigs, Sun Travel, Heartfield Designs, and The Douglas Group, Inc. dba UPICKEM accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes, or contest information. Station is not responsible for any computer or electronic malfunction, server unavailability, technological glitch, or human error relating to this contest and/or the use of short-code.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes, and change the aforementioned contest dates.
7. Mobile service provider may charge for each text message sent and received according to its standard text messaging rates. Entrants should check telephone capabilities for specific text messaging instructions and consult with mobile service provider regarding pricing plans. Entrants must be a mobile service subscriber with text messaging service, using a participating service provider in order to enter via this method. Not all mobile telephone providers carry the necessary service to participate.
